Research Discussion Paper – RDP 2019-08 The Well-meaning Economist

This ‘read me’ file contains details of the code included in this archive that was used to generate the figures in RDP 2019-08. The data for the figures is hypothetical. The only other data in the RDP are point estimates that have been extracted directly from other papers. They have been referenced clearly.

Code

The code behind the figures was written in ‘R’, version number 0.99.484.

The code is contained in the file ‘Draw Figures.R’. To execute the file, the user needs only to specify the file directory in which the graph files are to be saved. The change is to be made on line 5. The user will also need a pdf creator installed, since the charts are drawn as .pdf documents.
